Itinerary

Hiking numberIn case, over 20pax, group will split into 02 groups in hiking.

 

DAY1:    ARRIVAL AMMAN

 

Start tour :

Arrive Jordan,  to Queen Alia International Airport. Clients will meet with our representative staff and then transfer to hotel.

 

Overnight in Amman city

 

NO meals will be provided. Depends on the flight details, we can arrange lunch & dinner.

 

DAY2:    AMMAN – JERASH – AJLOUN

 

After having breakfast, Trnsfer  to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in  the whole Middle East.  Visit Oval Plaza, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and The temple of Artemis.  Then, transfer to Ajloun to have the hiking of The Ajloun Soap Maker’s trail (Distance: 7km & Time: 2-4hours)

 

** Ajloun Soap Maker’s Trail **

 

Hiking through open evergreen oak forest with many panoramic view points.  Visit the soap house to see local women produce natural olieve oil soap.  Return by coach to the reserve.

 

Lunch at local restaurant in Jerash

 

Dinner and Overnight at Ajloun Cabins or Bungalows

 

DAY3:   AJLOUN – HIKING IN AJLOUN – WADI MUJIB

 

After having breakfast, you will start the hiking of Prophet’s Trail.  (Distance: 8.5km & Time : 4hours).  Then, drive to the Wadi Mujib.

 

** The Prophet’s Trail **

 

Trekking through a beautiful rolling forest landscape, with donkey support, and end your hike at the fascinating charge mosaics of Mar Elias, where a locally prepared tea and picnic lunch will be provided.  Return to the reserve by coach

 

Picnick lunch will be provided on the hiking

 

Dinner and Overnight at Mujib Chalets

 

DAY4:   WADI MUJIB –  WADI FEYNAN

 

After  breakfast, you will start the hiking of the Mujib Canyon trail (Time: 4     hours).  Then, transfer to Wadi Feynan via Kerak or Tafila to have lunch.

 

In Wadi Feynan, you will have the sunset hiking trail (Distance: 1km & Time: 30minutes)

 

** Mujib Canyon Trail **

 

This is exciting water trail.  It starts at the visitor center.  It leads quickly to a striking area of creamy-white hills made of soft rock deposits.  After passing through these hills, you begin your descent to the river Mujib. From the Mujib River, the rout follows the river downstream from the head of the Mujib gorge.  Shortly after entering the gorge, you will reach the top of a spectacular waterfall 20 meters in height, which will be negotiated by ropes under the watchful tuition of trained guides.  After descending the waterfall, the hike continues along the gorge, with spectacular rock formations, and returns you to the visitor center.

 

Important:

 

This is a water trial. You need to have the ability to swim and have no fear of water and heights.  It is tough, exciting and offer a chance to swim and bathe in the cool, clear waters of the rivers.  Hikers should expect to climb rocks against the water flow and jump into pools of water.

 

** Sunset Trail **

 

It is round trip.  You can see the most beautil sunset in the Wadi Feynan.

DAY5:    WADI FEYNAN – HIKING IN WADI FEYNAN  – DANA

 

After having breakfast, you will have the hiking of Feynan  Trail (Distance: 14km & Time :5-6hours).

 

** Feynan Trail **

 

This  is a long but relatively easy trail that follows a dirt track the whole length of Wadi Dana and links Dana Village to the western gatewayof the Reserve in Feynan.  The trail can be walked from “both ends” and and passes through all the vegetation zones of the reserve,  from Mediterranean scrub forest around Dana village to the open stony deserts of Wadi Feynan.

 

Boxed lunch will be provided on the hiking

DAY6:   FULLDAY IN DANA  

 

After  breakfast, you will start the hiking of White Dome Trail (Distance: 8km  & Time: 4hours).  Rest of the time, you can have free for a leisure.

 

** White Dome Trail **

 

The trail contours the huge escarpments of Wadi Dana between Rummana Camp and Dana village.  It offers breath-talking view of the canyon-like Wadi and passes through the village terraced gardens.

Dinner and Overnight at Rummana campsite

 

DAY7:   DANA – PETRA

 

After  the breakfast, you will start the hiking of Rummana Trail (Distance: 2.5km & Time: 2hours). Then, transfer to Wadi Musa to have lunch and have overnight.

 

 ** Rummana Trail **

 

The Rummana Trail leads from the campsite to the scenic summit of Rummana (Pomegranate) Mountain.  You will pass some magnificent rock structures with mysterious mushroom – shaped formations and you may see birds of prey, such as the Kestrel, Long legged Buzzard and Griffon Vulture, soaring along the mountain edge.  On your way down from the summit, you will pass remnants of military site dating from the Hellenistic period and an old Roman well.   The hike down to the campsite continues through a beautiful Juniper forest.

Dinner and Overnight in Petra

 

DAY8:   PETRA VISIT – AMMAN

 

Today visit the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century  B.C. by the Nabatean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and founded a commercial empire.

 

You can start the trip on horse back or by foot to the canyon, the so called Siq, and then walk to the most beautiful monument: the Treasury.  From here you explore the city by yourself, you can see the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh’s Castle. In the afternoon, transfer to  Amman for overnight.

Dinner and Overnight in Amman city .

 

DAY9:    DEPARTURE AMMAN

 

After breakfast transfer to  Airport to say farewell and board your flight
